Once he coordinated in Buddhism, I finally made up his mind to stay in monk’s suit for good. During he is a monk; he got the cancer in the stomach. But now it’s completely gone. He has many worldly experiences in his life and has seen many kinds of people from every class. Being a Dream in Dream kindergarten student, he realized that “merit” makes people different. What merit makes a normal person be a president, a prime minister, and some become ministers or less powerful leaders, respectively? If one wishes to be a leader like this in every life, what can he do?
Every first Sunday of each month and on the days the temple had big ceremonies; and every time I attended the ceremony of offering sustenance to the Lord Buddha and of other big merit of the temple, I made wishes “May I own a house with land and a car.” Later on, my grandfather bought me a car when I did not even ask him for it. And a couple surprised things that happened to me. All my wishes were accomplished. This incident seriously strengthens my faith in merit.
Although we realize that our lives will not last a thousand years, sometimes we still let ourselves drift down into the stream of worldly pleasures which causes us suffering
What did my mother do which causes her to love merit accumulation so much and had the chance to make merit with Luang Pu when he was still alive? What deed makes her, at the last period of her life, suffer with blood pressure, rheumatoid, thyroid and makes her tumble so many times that her ankles are no longer strong which obstruct her from coming to the temple? What retribution makes her not to have gum edge which causes her to be unable to wear false teeth, so it is difficult for her to eat and defecate?

Very often I felt like surrendering and didn’t understand why the more merit I made the more degrading my life was until I became penniless. I felt as if I was in the dark. However, no matter how bad it was I would not give in and I chose to fight to my death. I changed from being downhearted to taking up the challenge. Finally I found out the best solution was not to think about it and to motivate myself to keep on making merit with an assurance that one day the merit will certainly yield fruit.
